Reverend F. Paul Liersemann graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri in 1973 with a Master of Divinity degree.  During his thirty four years as a Lutheran Pastor, he has served as a church planter, mission developer, consultant, mentor, and evangelist in Ohio, New York, Texas, and Maryland.  His ministry has included sole pastorates as well as a large staff ministry with both church and pre-school through High School responsibilities. 

In 1984, Pastor Liersemann was commissioned as a United States Navy Reserve Officer.  He served as a Chaplain with the United States Marine Corps, Navy Seabees, Navy Fleet Hospital, and the United States Naval Academy.  In 2004, the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod’s Ministry to the Armed Forces awarded him the Bronze St. Martin of Tours Medal for 20 years of commissioned service.  His ministry included shore and sea duty, back seat in the F4 Phantom Jet, as well as assignments in Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Norway, and the Continental United States.  Captain Liersemann retired from the Untied States Navy Chaplain Corps on March 2, 2007. 

Since February of 2002, Reverend Liersemann has been serving as Pastor of First Lutheran Church of Calvert County in Sunderland, Maryland.  He is responsible for the growth and development of a multi-faceted ministry and staff focused on worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism.  He also provides pastoral care for First Lutheran’s Little Lambs Preschool and staff.  Pastor Liersemann is presently serving as Circuit 8 Counselor for the Southeastern District of the LCMS, a volunteer Chaplain to Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, MD, a board member for Calvert County Health Solutions, and an Advisory Board member for Birthright of Prince Frederick, MD .  His personal mission experience includes ministry in Liberia West Africa, Canada, India, and Mexico. 

Pastor Paul and Kathy Liersemann reside in Prince Frederick, Maryland. Kathy has her Masters Degree in Elementary Education and is teaching second grade at The Calverton School in Huntingtown, Maryland. They consider it a blessing to have Sarah and husband Chris, Aaron, and John as their children, and Joshua and Zachary as their grandsons.
